Lawley House is named for Bryan and Garnet Lawley,

the original owners of the home.
Bryan and his family built their house near his parents,

John and Susan Mathis Lawley.

John Lawley's Pear Tree

 

In 1895, John Lawley planted a pear orchard at Cookson.

One tree is left, and is in the front yard at Lawley House. 
It is 110 years old and still bears fruit.
 

 

Lawley House is operated by Jennifer Sparks,

great niece of Bryan Lawley

and great granddaughter

of John and Susie Lawley.
