- Lawley House is named for Bryan
and Garnet Lawley,
- the original owners of the home.
Bryan and his family built their house near his parents,
- John and Susan Mathis Lawley.

John and Susie Lawley
Children pictured from left to right are

Bryan.
- In 1895, John Lawley
planted a pear orchard at Cookson.
- One tree is left, and is in the front yard at Lawley House.
It is 110 years old and still bears fruit.
